CCHS BASEBALL TEAM RULES

Don't put yourself into a position where you have to make an excuse
Be on time
Pass your classes
Run on and off the field
Watch an occasional baseball game on TV, it will educate you and make you better.
If you go on vacation during the season don't expect to play when you get back. The program needs and deserves your commitment
Fund raisers are mandatory
I will not discuss playing time with parents. It is between me and the player.
Please do not talk to me about my moves or tactics.
Please do not make vacation plans the day after the last game. We may intersquad or scrimmage other DCL teams to help prepare them for the tournament. This extended practice schedule is not mandatory to seniors.
Parents please limit the conversation to players during the games, players there is no conversing with anyone during a game.
Players will respect each other, umpires, opponents, and coaches.
These rules apply to all programs. Freshman and JV teams may have their own set of rules which are in addition to these.
Lastly, we play to win. It is not ok to accept losing. We play to beat the other team because they are playing to beat us. Learn to compete. If winning is not important to you please don't play for me.

My Expectations

Play to Win
Run on and off the field, don't look lazy. It makes you and the team look bad.
Follow the team rules
Practice with the purpose of getting better
Play unselfishly. Know your purpose at the plate, on the mound, and in the field.
Be angry when you lose, ANOTHER TEAM JUST BEAT YOU. Take it personally and learn from it.
Prepare in the off season. Use a hitting coach or a pitching coach to get better.
Have pride in your performance
Most importantly, despite the rules that make me sound like a tough guy, HAVE FUN!! Baseball is supposed to be fun. Relax and do your best. I will never get angry at the team or a player for screwing up as long as they are trying their best.
